Behavioral Health

Psychotherapy is a collaborative treatment based on the relationship between an individual, couple or family and a therapist. Grounded in dialogue, it provides a supportive environment that allows members to talk openly with someone who's objective, neutral and non-judgmental. Members and therapists will work together to identify and change the thought and behavior patterns that are keeping members from feeling their absolute best.

Healthe Clinic therapists take your privacy seriously. In addition to the therapist being neutral, objective and non-judgmental, the information you share is highly protected and safe-guarded. Our therapists even take steps to protect your privacy within the clinic lobby by practicing discretion when you arrive and present to your appointment. Psychotherapy notes are brief, noting only the member's attendance, major themes and interventions. Your diagnosis and treatment may be discussed with other members of the Healthe Clinic care team, but this is limited to the minimum necessary for member care.

Aside from psychotherapy, clinic therapists also provide testing and formal assessment for members who may benefit. Psychological testing is the objective and standardized measurement of mental health symptoms or conditions. The Healthe Clinic therapists may utilize these tools to better understand and treat.

What if I Haven’t Elected Cerner’s Health Plan?

For associates and their family members who are not enrolled in Cerner Health Plan Services and do not want to pay out-of-pocket for therapy appointments ($85) at the Healthe Clinic, Cerner provides a great alternative and cost savings benefit. In addition to the behavioral health programs offered at the Healthe Clinic, Cerner offers the Associate Assistance Program (EAP). The EAP provides free, confidential professional counseling and consultation by local providers for Cerner associates and their families. It is there to help you resolve personal concerns which may affect your health, personal well-being, or job performance. Up to six sessions of counseling and consultation are available at no charge to Cerner associates and their dependent family members. For concerns requiring additional or specialized assistance, you may be referred to a professional or community resource with expertise in your area of concern. The United States Benefit Partner is New Directions Behavioral Health. You or your family member may contact the EAP directly at the telephone number listed below. Following a brief intake in which you will be asked for details and the name of your employer, arrangements will be made for you to meet with a counselor at a convenient time to discuss your concerns in strict confidence. Your employer will not know who uses the EAP unless you tell your employer or authorize the counselor to share details on your behalf. The program is voluntary and completely confidential.
